Job Description
Role Purpose:
The well control engineer is part of the team responsible for following up well control equipment for platforms and jack-ups. This includes topside and subsea BOP and connected equipment. The role is part of the technical team in Odfjell Technology, business area_ Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for documenting status and verifying maintenance of well control equipment and all equipment defined as safety critical
- Ensure spare part strategy for safety critical equipment
- Support the classification strategy and planning for well control equipment
- Responsible to follow up BOP failure reports and ensure that experiences are shared across the OTL fleet
- Responsible for conducting well control audits
- Supporting on- and offshore platform organizations
- Responsible for performing criticality assessment on a fixed frequency in accordance with established standards and regulations
- Responsible for conducting condition monitoring and lead the response team
- Responsible to define well control competence requirements for offshore maintenance personnel
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
- Recognized technical qualification with relevant experience within Oil & Gas drilling area
- 5 years’ experience in a technical role within drilling industry
- Demonstrable experience in all aspects of maintenance delivery including planning, scope of work, Control of Work and Maintenance management system
- Good collaborative qualities to cooperate with on-/offshore supervisors and vendor representatives
