OPERATIONAL PURCHASER Odfjell Technology AS

Odfjell Technology is looking for an Operational Purchaser to fill a permanent position in our team. The successful candidate will be a part of SCM and a dynamic team of Operational Purchasers. He or she will also work closely with our internal customers.  

Key performance responsibilities: 
Perform purchases according to approved requisitions  
Identify suppliers, obtain quotations and negotiate terms of purchase 
Manage change orders and follow up pending deliveries  
Ensure effective expediting and tracking of goods and shipments  
Monitor and verify cost related to purchase orders  
Contribute to the development of supplier relations 
Follow up vendors on a secondary level 
Facilitate payment of invoices within time limit  
Contribute to reduced operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenditures (CAPEX)   
Ensure sourcing strategies are in alignment with company goals and objectives  
Contribute to provide excellent customer service and close working relationships

Recommend improvements, record discrepancy and suggest corrective measures  
Ensure that lessons learned are documented and shared throughout the organization  
Contribute to maximize environmental focus in the department  
Report any breach of Odfjell Business ethics policy  
Contribute to the reduction of environmental emissions 

Qualification requirements: 
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering, Business, Economics or equivalent  
Good knowledge of IT tools and systems within area of responsibility 
Good knowledge of English, both written and oral

Ability to work independently and in teams

Good and effective communication skills  
Ability to manage multiple interfaces and meet internal customer needs  
HSE orientated and safety conscious 
Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers
