HR Compensation & Benefits is a department in the company’s global HR competence team, organized under the HR Center of Expertise (COE) in Bergen. The department has high expertise in relevant regulations, collective agreements, payroll, wages, and taxes domestic/abroad, secondments, pensions, insurance, welfare schemes, and travel management. The department is also responsible for analyses and reporting within the department’s areas of expertise. HR is a part of Odfjell Technology Global Business Services, providing shared services to the business areas in Odfjell Technology (OTL), Odfjell Drilling (ODL) and Odfjell Oceanwind. 
The Odfjell companies are growing in numbers and complexity in Norway and internationally. We are adding strength to the HR department to meet increased activity, efficiency demands, and digitalisation projects. 

Job Description

We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience within Compensation & Benefits on a global level, to replace our current manager who will soon retire after many years in the company. 
As manager, you will be in charge for the department’s deliveries together with the team of specialists, which also include the payroll department in Norway. 
You are committed to drive improvement and development of our systems and processes in the field and will inspire and support the team.
In addition to thriving as a leader, you must handle a complex workday and be able to shift the focus between strategic work and actual tasks in a highly operational everyday life. You are self-confident and enjoy collaborating at all levels of the organization. 
Although most of our employees are in Norway and much of the daily work will be here, the position includes global process responsibility, and you should expect significant cooperation with all our international locations.

Key responsibilities and areas of work

  • Develop, implement, and manage the compensation and benefits/reward framework including strategy, compensation schemes, pension & insurance schemes and rewards schemes.
  • Trustee of benefits arrangements like pensions (Norway) and personnel insurance globally, including frame agreements and relationships with providers and global insurance broker. 
  • Manage team of key specialists in Comp & Ben area. Payroll department is also a part of the area.
  • Have the latest market knowledge, including proposed future legislative changes, and understand implications in relation to benefits and pay. 
  • Ensure implementation of new relevant legislation.
  • Maintain company standards for employment terms & conditions.
  • Design and implement compensations schemes, salary matrixes and practices.
  • Responsible for employment contract standards (of all kinds).
  • Design and implement HR/Company regulations/policies/handbooks and resources in the scope of work.
  • Ensure company welfare programs, gifts, and recognition policies.
  • Responsible for salary reviews to ensure consistency of application ad relevant market benchmarking.
  • Budget input, cost analytics, calculations.
  • Facilitate Union relations related to company policy and pay practices in relevant locations. Participate in relevant negotiations with Unions.
  • Ensuring that the travel policy is managed according to set objectives.5-10 key responsibilities in bullet type 

Qualifications:

  • Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree (finance, administration, business or similar). Relevant experience can compensate for a lack of formal education.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in areas related to Human Resources, like employee administration, terms and conditions, compensations, insurance, and pension.
  • Must be fluent in Norwegian and English language, written and spoken. 
  • Experience with tariff agreements and union relations.
  • Experience with insurance providers and coverages. Ability to negotiate with providers of services related to pension and insurances.
  • Understanding of pension regulations and can learn industry specific schemes.
  • Excellent proficiency in digital tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good knowledge of GDPR.
  • Knowledge of ESG
