We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team in Bergen.
We are currently rebuilding our datawarehouse(s) to a cloud environment, and we are organizing our IT team to support the data platform development. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the work of designing, developing, and maintaining our data platform in a modern Azure technology environment.
Job Description
As a Data Engineerat Odfjell Technology, you will be at the forefront of our data-driventransformation. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless flow of data,from source to insight, by developing and maintaining data pipelines andinfrastructure. You will be working with technologies such as Azure DataFactory and Databricks.
In this role,you will have the opportunity to lead the development of our data platform,which serves as the foundation for data analytics and business intelligenceacross the company. You will be the key resource building and maintain our DataPlatform.
You willcollaborate closely with the Insight team and operational business stakeholdersto understand their data needs and support them in achieving their objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- ETL Processes: Create efficient ETL processes that ensure data quality, integrity, and availability.
- Data Transformation: Implement data transformations and data cleansing using Databricks and other technologies to make the data ready for analytical purposes.
- Data Product Development: Collaboration with data scientists and analysts to develop new data products and solutions that drive business insights.
- Data Platform Maintenance: Ensure the reliability and availability of the data platform, addressing any issues that may arise in a timely manner. Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines and processes for improved performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, configurations, and best practices.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in building and maintaining using Azure Data Factory and Databricks (or similar).
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and database systems.
- Knowledge of data integration and transformation techniques.
